One of the things my family has done to help with climate change is to look around our house and identify inefficient appliances and systems. Last week we replaced our old air conditioner with a much more climate friendly one. We decided it was time to do something when we used our air quality monitor around the house and realized our air quality went down significantly to the “unhealthy” range every time we turned on the old air conditioner. Now after installing the new one, we are in the healthy range. We figured a switch was necessary not only for our health, but for the health of our planet. We also discovered that the city must inspect all new air conditioners and test them for energy efficiency before giving their ok for the installation.
