There are many ways in which plastic bags and climate change are connected. Plastic bags cause ecosystem disturbance, from air quality to ocean toxicity. Plastic pollution, fossil fuel emissions, and habitat devastation are some of the ways that plastic bags and climate change are inextricably linked. In addition to harming the environment during production and disposal, plastic hurts our health and takes a very long time to break down in the natural world. Additionally, many of these plastics end up in the food chains of numerous species, some of which we subsequently eat. Therefore, to reduce the use of plastic, take a flask or reusable coffee cup with you.
