Reusable Straws

One super simple method I have found that cuts back on my personal plastic use in a noticeable way is buying some reusable straws. A lot of stores and restaurants have swapped to using plastic alternative straws already, but if you have ever used a paper straw you know they leave a lot to be desired. The great part about the reusable straws I have picture above is that they will still hold their shape while drinking and are small enough to bring anywhere when you want to get a drink. They even come in different sizes for if you want boba or just a normal soda. The one place these metal straws shouldn’t be used in is in the car. A rigid object like that being in your mouth when you hit the brakes is very dangerous. Luckily there is still a reusable straws option for this scenario. Straws made out of silicone have enough give to not be dangerous while driving while still being completely reusable and easily portable. Whether it’s metal, silicone, or even bamboo, getting a set of reusable straws is a great small step anybody can take to help with reducing harmful plastics in our environment.
