Reusable straws (and they're cute!)

For my whole life I have always preferred to drink out of straws. Back when I was in high school was when I first remembered the conversation starting about plastic straws being bad for the environment. I remember feeling so guilty because I knew I was always using them, taking plastic ones from fast food places, throwing them away without a care in the world. So when I learned about reusable straws I begged my mom on multiple occasions to get me some. For some reason, maybe she just didn’t care enough, she never got them for me. And I was never able to buy them myself because I didn’t have my own money. Then years passed and now I’m an adult with my own money and I’m going to be honest, I stopped caring so much too. I still was using single-use plastic straws. Granted, definitely not as often as I was years ago but still using them. But after taking this class the guilt has come back. I made a purchase for reusable metal straws (that are so cute and shaped like hearts!!) because even though it’s a small change, it’s one that will actually impact my life because of how much I use straws in everyday life. I’d like to apologize for all the harm I’ve probably done to the environment with all the single-use plastics I’ve used but this is a small step in the right direction. I’m already looking at other alternatives to single-use plastics but for right now, I’m loving my heart-shaped metal straws!
