A simple way to cut costs and plastic waste, while making your own nontoxic dry shampoo!
Hi! My name is Emily, and I wanted to share a few tips and my dry shampoo recipe! I purchased this bag of arrowroot powder a while back for one recipe, and had it just stored up and away while I went through bottles and bottles of arisol and Trader Joe’s powder dry shampoo. After looking up a less toxic recipe for my head I found a new use!
2 Tbs. of arrowroot powder for every 1/4 Tbs. of cinnamon (use more cinnamon for darker hair)!
I usually refill my cinnamon from the Local Scoop in Encinitas where I also picked up a jar from their jar recycle program!
To apply, part hair to desired side, dip old makeup brush and apply about 1/4 an inch away from the scalp avoiding the part line. Continue to section your hair in half inch to quarter inch sections and apply where desired. Let it sit for about a minute then rub it in with your fingers!
Allowing it to sit for a minute, let’s the arrowroot powder soak up any oil apply as needed!
