Just getting started.
I was pleasantly surprised to see my Geography 101 professor shared similar interests to myself in regards to being eco-friendly. I have also always loved nature and tried to recycle and do other mildly environmentally friendly things. But, it was not until very recently that my girlfriend Isabella began to do further research into plastics (polyester included). Her findings shocked me and scared me. We are only two people but now we focus on reducing our impact. Here are a few ways my habits have changed.
Products: (photos included)
-Aluminum, paraben, and plastic free deodorant (in paper packaging)
-Replacing polyester blends for 100% cotton and silk. (organic cotton
when I can, OEKO-TEX certified when I can, not easy because I mostly shop at the thrift store)
-Reusable produce bags, rather than the plastic ones at the grocery store.
These are changes that I have already made in my life in order to rid it of single use/deteriorating plastics One activity which I am going to start doing again in my free time is picking up trash (mostly plastic, including microplastics (microplastics as a term includes some plastics that are big enough to be seen by the human eye, they are hard to rid the environment of). I focus my efforts at the seasonally dry San Luis Rey riverbed which is a 5 minute walk from my house. Thank you for reading my blog post.

This is such a great post, Luke! Thank you so much! I am so glad you are doing all the things!!
