minimizing my plastic use
In my house we dont use plastic water bottles we refill our five gallon jug at our local water mill, and everyone had their own reuseable water bottle. Since the mill is within walking distance, not only does it cut down on the amount of plastic water bottle cases we would normally buy but also lowers our carbon footprint since we dont have to drive to the store just to get water. On top of that using a refillable gallon helps reduce co2 emissions that come from the production and transportation of disposable plastic bottles.
By refilling my reusable water bottle from the gallon also helps reduce plastic waste. Millions of plastic bottles are thrown away often not being properly recycled. Instead they end up in landfills or the ocean, where they harm wildlife and break down into mircoplastics. By using a reusable water bottle it allows me to limit the amount of plastic waste i produce.
Using one large gallon instead of mulitiple snall bottle also makes a difference becasue it reduces the amount o plastic and packaging being used overall. Its a simple habit, but over time it adds up and helps conserve resources. I also realized that decorating my water bottle with things i like makes me more likely to grab it and take it with me, which makess me less likey to buy a disposable drink when im out.
