Small Changes @ Home
As a mom of three, cutting back on plastic use has become a small but important goal for our family. With so many groceries, snacks, and other household items, it's easy to overlook just how much plastic we go through every week. One of the easiest changes we made is switching to reusable bags for shopping. Now, every time we head to the store, we grab our fabric bags (I just learned about mesh produce bags - I will need to get some). It feels good knowing we're doing our part to reduce waste, and it’s simple enough that the kids are starting to remember to grab the bags too.
We’ve kept a stash of reusable bags in the car so we never forget them. Although I am guilty of still having my moments. I’ve also noticed that a lot of stores are now offering paper or alternatives to plastic bags, which is great when we forget our own. It's all about making those little adjustments that add up.
It hasn’t been too difficult to make these changes, and I feel good knowing that even small steps like using reusable bags are helping the environment. Plus, it’s another nice way to teach my kids the importance of sustainability. Slowly but steadily, we are trying to be better and do better for our future little ones. I appreciate when people are kind and educate me on ways I can make a difference.
